WHAT IS YOUR MUST-HAVE WRITING TOOL & WHY?
I always start with paper and a good pen (an annoying pen will irritate the heck out of me and stall all creative flow). Technically that's two tools, but what good is one without the other?

IF YOU COULD INVENT ANYTHING YOU WANTED, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
You've heard of a noise machine? I don't get it. I'd make a quiet machine. A mute button for the world.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR? IF YOU HAD 5 MINUTES WITH THEM, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
K.F. Breene makes me laugh out loud and keeps me guessing at what will happen next. Amy Bartol builds amazing worlds. I'd love to have 5 minutes to pick either of their brains, but, like right now, I'd probably not be able to think of anything specific to ask them. The brain mush is real.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
My family makes fun of me because I never want to go anywhere cool. I'm just not a traveler. It makes me very anxious. I grew up in the country, and I love to go back to my family's land and just sit and stare out at the wood and fields. The stress melts away and there is peace and quiet. Coyotes call at night. And raccoons put up a fight over the cat food left on the patio. Anywhere in the world? There's a little less than 100 acres between West Point and Plum, Texas with my name on it.

WHAT IS ONE MOVIE YOU CAN PRACTICALLY QUOTE FROM START TO FINISH?
Pride and Prejudice (the Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen version). I could watch it daily.

IF YOU HAD TO BE SHIPWRECKED ON A DESERTED ISLAND, BUT ALL YOUR HUMAN NEEDS -- SUCH AS FOOD AND WATER -- WERE TAKEN CARE OF, WHAT TWO ITEMS WOULD YOU WANT TO HAVE WITH YOU?
Carmex and my Bible.
