Noting that this question does not specifically preclude time travel, I would go and visit each of my ancestors who left their native lands for America, and ask them about their hopes and dreams for the future.

IF YOU WERE TO WALK INTO A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE WHAT CAN YOU CONFIDENTLY SAY YOU DO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM?
Walk out of that same room without having to actually speak to anyone. I’m a master at that. Here’s the trick: make one counter-clockwise circuit of the room, grab a drink on the way, stay to the edges, don’t make eye contact, fake a phone call if you must, maintain a pleasant, distracted smile, then exit through the same door you came in.

Ireland, though neutral throughout World War II, had one prisoner of war camp which housed ‘guests’ from both sides of the conflict. Mostly pilots who were shot down over Ireland.
